Here's Merry Belle, lounging about like the little khaleesi that she is. Doesn't she look so comfortable? I'm beyond happy that she's setting in so well!

And here's Bruster, exhausted after a round of ball-throwing in the back yard. We have to have two tennis balls on hand because he doesn't quite have the "retrieve and return" thing down.

Then, look! Bruster and Merry Belle are laying on the bed together! It wasn't terribly long lived (as soon as I left the room, Merry Belle resumed her spot by the window), but they were fairly content to be close and neither one put up the least bit of fuss. Bruster looked her over, decided the fight wasn't worth it; she sniffed him, figured he wasn't worth the trouble.

When the time comes that my mother crosses over to the other side, I've promised Miss Daisy that I will get her a sibling. There are plenty of rescued dachshunds in need of a good spoiling. Daisy lived with other dogs. She was abandoned with them, tied up outside a vet's office in Iowa. So, I know she has gotten along with dogs before.
